Welcome Parents!!!
Dear Parents,

I want to start this letter off by saying thank you so much for all your support and time you have given us throughout our colonization process. I’ll give you a quick recap of what all we accomplished last year, our endeavors for this year, and where we are headed. Without your support we would be lost. I want to make sure you all know that all of our triumphs are a true reflection of you.
Last year was a remarkable year for us. We were able to recruit twenty-one quality guys during rush, this was the largest of any fraternity on campus. We hit the ground running after that. On the intramural field we completed an undefeated flag football season, and represented Huntingdon College at the state tournament in Troy. After flag football we turned our focus onto community service. We had an amazing opportunity to work with ABC’s "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition". While it was one of the most amazing times of our lives, it was not an easy task. We were assigned the graveyard shift of midnight to 6:00 a.m. and although the hours were rough we were able to amass over 300 hours of community service. At the end of the year Huntingdon College has a Greek awards ceremony in which we won highest new member GPA, most community service hours (both Greek and non Greek), and raised the most money for a MDA benefit concert held by the school. Our first year was amazing and a true sign of where we are headed.
Now we will head into what we are currently doing. This rush was another amazing time for us. We were able to recruit sixteen quality guys and again we were able to get more than any other male fraternity. In community service we have partnered with Common Ground Montgomery, a recreation center for under privileged children in the Montgomery area. We are only half way through the year and we have already attained over 500 community service hours. Our goal academically is to have a cumulative 3.0 GPA, which would be the highest male fraternity on campus. While we are only half way through with this year we are so excited at how promising this next semester looks for us.
Our future is looking brighter every day, and given our past, this is a very exciting time. We are currently in the process of getting a new colony room (which will be located at the bottom of Jackson Home). We have already gone through and set out floor plans for how we want the contractor to renovate the basement. We are also planning a parent/alumni cookout during baseball season, in which we hope to see all of you so that we may express our gratitude in your support of us during this colonization process. In closing I want to reiterate how much we appreciate everything all of you have done for us and we look forward to what the future holds for all of us.
Fraternally, Matt Browning
Commander
